VISION STATEMENT
of Pastor Micheal Benton for Fairfield Baptist Church
It is my vision as Pastor that Fairfield Baptist Church becomes the city that sits on a hill that cannot be hidden. (Matthew 5:14)
This vision is to be accomplished by holistically ministering to the church family as well as the community at large. In my vision, I see Fairfield one day soon as having a multi-purpose complex complete with a sanctuary with a seating capacity of 2,500, a multi-purpose building that will have a gymnasium for athletic activities but will also serve as a banquet hall, classrooms for Sunday School, and in the future, a day care center.
I envision a full time Christian School that could possibly go as far as high school. This school would offer an alternative to the public school system. It would include a computer lab, science lab, reading lab, gym, possible bus transportation, cafeteria, before and after school care, and some type of tutorial program to encourage our children to be all that they can be. I also envision a senior citizen home, a shelter for the homeless; a possible shelter for babies with AIDS, and a single mother program. I see the possibility of a halfway house that would help to combat the growing destruction that drugs are playing in the genocide of our people.
It is my vision that whatever needs are born out of or brought into our community, Fairfield will be standing there as a "beaconing light" first to save the soul, then to heal the hurt and broken hearted, to offer assistance to those in physical need, to restore the mind of those who have fainted along the way, to let the lonely know that they are never alone, and to holistically minister to the old, young and middle age in our community.
