Pastor Micheal Benton
"A Man With a Vision From God"
Reverend
Micheal Benton, a native of Lithonia, Georgia,
was born to
the late JP and Jessie Mae Benton in 1948.
After graduating from the
Bruce Street High School, he was drafted into the U. S. Army. He
began a 22 year career with the Kraft Food Corporation shortly
afterwards.
In 1975 Pastor Benton received his call to the
ministry at the age of 26. He answered the call to ordained ministry
in 1976. His pastorate at the Fairfield Baptist Church would soon
follow in 1977. In 1990 he
discontinued his employment with the Kraft Food Corp to pastor
full-time.
Pastor Benton received his
Bachelors Degree of Divinity in Biblical
Education from the
Beulah Heights Bible College in 1999 and is currently completing a
Masters Degree in Biblical Education at the Great Commission
Seminary in Kentucky. He is certified to teach by the Evangelical
Training Association.
Pastor Benton is an anointed man of God.
Those who are blessed to serve under his ministry hear and receive
great wisdom, an intense anointing, and the power to change. Whether
churched or unchurched, his messages reach people with practical
down-to-earth answers to the everyday challenges of life.
He is known as a dynamic Gospel preacher and
revivalist with a
widely traveled ministry. He recalls two of his most gratifying
experiences, preaching a sermon at the Sea of Galilee during a trip
to the Holy Land and a trip to the Yucatan Peninsula for the
dedication ceremony of a church in Chichania for which Fairfield
provided funding.
Pastor
Benton
is a pastor with a shepherd’s heart. He
demonstrates his love by inspiring and encouraging the congregation
to become disciples. He has
demonstrated himself as a spiritual man with a vision by moving the
church forward and equipping the saints to do ministry. During his
30 years of ministry at Fairfield, he has licensed over 75
preachers, ordained five pastors and over 40 deacons.
In addition to his pastoral duties, Pastor Benton
enjoys spending time with his family. He is married to Y’Vonne
Brantley Benton who has shared his life and ministry since 1975.
They have six children, Keith, Nzinga, Yohance, Oya, Nadira and
Shani, and three grandchildren, Joi, Jared and Imani.
Pastor Benton, his family and the members of
Fairfield Baptist Church invite those who visit the area to join
them. Visitors receive a warm welcome, a worshipful atmosphere with
an emphasis on the entire family, and powerful, practical biblical
preaching.
"Where there is no vision, the people perish." Proverbs 29:18
